Malta
international airport is the only airport
in Malta and in the Maltese Archipelago. Malta international
airport, even though it is called by foreigners Valletta
airport (from the name of the Maltese capital) is
actually located between Luqa and Gudja.
The present airport is located where the former RAF
Luqa airport was located and it is still called by
locals Luqa Airport. Malta international airport has
been completely refurbished and open to the public
in 1992.

Malta international airport has two runaways and
a 40,000 square metres terminal. Facilities include
several cafeterias and restaurants (including a drive
through Mac Donald’s and a Hard Rock
Café), various duty free shops and car rental
agencies. Every year Malta international airport holds

Malta international airport – how to get there
You can get to Malta international airport by taxi,
as there is a 24-hour taxi service available to and
from Malta international airport to any destination
on the island.
Alternatively, there is a public bus (bus n. 8) that
connects Valletta with Malta international airport.
The bus stops at Valletta - Floriana - Bombi -Blata
L-Bajda - Marsa - Paola - Tarxien - Tal-Barrani -
Ghaxaq - Gudja - Air terminal
