The 2007 BMW Malta Marathon
Malta (Mdina) - 26 February 2007 tbc (final Sun of every Feb).
The marathon follows in the medieval town of Mdina and ends at the seaside resort of Sliema, with a distance of 42 km.

Carnival is celebrated in every village in Malta, with parades of gaudily coloured floats.

Valletta - Malta Jazz Festival - 15-17 July 2007 tbc (Starts 3rd Fri of every Jul)
Every July a popular jazz festival enlivens the 16th century UNESCO World Heritage Site of Valletta, capital of Malta, for three summer nights. Established in 1990, the festival attracts world-renowned jazz musicians to perform on the Grand Harbour of this beautiful, seaside town.

Feast of the Assumption (Various towns) -13-17 August 2007 tbc (Every year)
Celebrated in seven towns on the Mediterranean island of Malta and its sister Gozo, the Feast of the Assumption (Santa Maria) is the height of the summer season of religious festivals ( festas ) and also a public holiday.

Our Lady of Victories Festa - Valletta - 8 September 2007
On 8 September 1565, the Ottoman forces who had been besieging the Valletta, in what became known as the Great Siege, gave up and sailed home. In commemoration of this important day, a rowing regatta takes place in the Grand Harbour on what is a Maltese public holiday.

Malta International Airshow - Sep 24 - 25
During t he 13th edition of the Malta International the general public will have the opportunity to access to some of the airfield ramps, view the aircraft and talk with the pilots. There will be flying displays by civil and military aircraft, including parachute teams, as well as a static display of various types of aircraft. This will take place at the Luqa Airfield.

Birgu Festival, Birgu -3-5 October 2007 tbc (Every 2 years)
This festival celebrates the history of the ancient maritime town of Birgu, also known as Vittoriosa, and attracts 20,000 people over three days.

Rolex Middle Sea Race - Valletta - 25 October 2007 tbc (Every year)
The Rolex Middle Sea Race, organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, is one of the oldest and toughest offshore racing Classics.

The Malta Historic Cities Festival - Oct 6 - Oct 16
Eleven days of cultural entertainment focusing on Malta's main historic towns, namely those of Valletta, Mdina and Rabat, Victoria in Gozo, Birgu, Cospicua and Senglea. A number of concerts will be held outdoors and inside historic buildings and Baroque churches.
The festival will present Maltese as well as international talent. The culmination of the festival will be a Historical Military Tattoo which will be held at Palace Square, Valletta.

Malta International Choir Festival -Valletta -14-18 November 2007 tbc (Starts 2nd Mon of every Nov). First held in 1989, the Malta International Choir Festival brings together choral groups from all over the world at Valletta's Republic Hall in the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
